An optimisation approach for designing wildlife corridors with ecological and spatial considerations

چکیده
The fragmentation of wildlife habitats caused by anthropogenic activities has reduced biodiversity and impaired key ecosystem functions. Wildlife corridors play an important role in linking detached habitats. optimal design such considering spatial, ecological economic factors is addressed this paper. A graph theoretic approach for modelling wildlife corridors
Wildlife corridors are components of landscapes, which facilitate the movement of organisms and processes between areas of intact habitat, and thus provide landscape corridor. Corridors are thus regions within a given landscape that generally comprise native vegetation, and connect otherwise fragmented, disconnected, non-contiguous wildlife habitat patches in the landscape. The purpose of desig...

Wildlife corridors are components of landscapes, which facilitate the movement of organisms and processes between intact habitat areas, and thus provide connectivity between the habitats within the landscapes. متن کاملEcological Considerations in the Management of Wildlife Damage
Strategies for managing wildlife damage may be divided into 3 broad categories: direct manipulation of populations, manipulation of behavioral or ecological traits of pest species, and manipulation of environmental features. For each of these categories, I review the importance of ecological considerations in determining the effectiveness of management strategies. Proper incorporation of ecolog...
متن کاملDesigning an Ecological Study
Ecology can be defined as the study of ecological systems. A system is any set of components, living or nonliving, that are tied together by regular interactions. An ecological system is made up of one or more organisms, together with the nonliving environment with which they interact. Ecological systems exist at several different levels of organization. An ecological system can be a single org...
